Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University men's and women's soccer teams will be in action at the Sports Complex, 601 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach. This week's soccer games will all

be at the soccer stadium.

Men's Soccer will face Eckerd at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

Women's Volleyball will face Rollins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at ICI Center.

Women's Soccer will face Nova Southeastern at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.

Daytona 500 will open 2023 NASCAR Cup season

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series schedule was announced recently, and like every year, the Daytona 500 will kick off NASCAR’s 75th Anniversary season.

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 will again be final race of the regular season. The schedules for the NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series also were released.

The 65th annual Daytona 500 will be Sunday, Feb. 19, on Presidents’ Day Weekend. It will mark the 42nd straight year The Great American Race has started off NASCAR’s season.

Fans will again see the NASCAR’s Next Gen cars in competition on the 31-degree banking during Thursday’s (Feb. 16) Bluegreen Vacations Duel races, which will set the starting field for Daytona 500.

The NEXTera Energy 250 for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will get the green flag Friday, Feb. 17, while Saturday. Feb. 18 will see the Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. 300 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The ARCA Menards Series also will be in competition during Speed Weeks.

Next year’s summer classic, the Coke Zero Sugar 400, is set for Saturday, Aug. 26. The Wawa 250 Xfinity series race will be Friday, Aug. 25.

Business Links Golf Tournament

The 2022 Business Links Golf Tournament presented by Brown & Brown Inc. will be at LPGA International Friday, Sept. 23, at 1000 Champions Drive, Daytona Beach.

Participants will enjoy a quick pace of play, prizes and auction items, all while supporting the Daytona Regional Chamber.

Check-in will begin at 7 a.m. with professional bag drop service, and play will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Lunch will follow with awards, prize drawings and a silent auction.

Holly Hill golf scramble

The Holly Hill Chamber of Commerce will host its 26th annual Golf Scramble, Grip It & Sip It, at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Riviera Country Club, 500 Calle Grande St.

Registration will start at 7 a.m. Admission is $400 per foursome or $150 per single player, and includes a light breakfast, lunch, green fees, golf cart, beverages and prizes.

Dine and golf

The Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce will host Nine and Dine at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at LPGA International, 1000 Champions Drive, Daytona Beach.

Senior games

Registration is open for the 31st annual New Smyrna Beach Senior Games.

The games will be from Sept. 27 to Oct. 6 throughout the city. People older than 50 are eligible.

Kiwanis Golf tournament

The Kiwanis Club of Southeast Volusia County will host Kids need Kiwanis Golf Tournament at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Hidden Lakes Golf Club, 35 Fairgreen Ave., New Smyrna Beach.

Cost to play is $100 until Sept. 24. Registration will start at 7 a.m. Fee includes golf, swag bag and lunch.
