Second workshop in Practice Sustainable Living series: Three sessions, 9-11:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. Oct. 17, the Oasis at Warwick, 10 Fence Rd., Warwick. Sponsored by Orange Environment, Inc. The morning session from 9-11:30 a.m. will be led by Frank Dragone and includes discussions on “Home Composting” and “Growing Vegetables from Seed to Harvest” for a fee of $45. Between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. there will be a Composter Display and Earth Machine Composter Demo. From 1:30-4 p.m., Joe Gregoire will instruct participants on “Cultivating Oyster Mushrooms in Straw” and lead a hands-on session on straw pasteurization and inoculating straw with mushroom spores for a fee of $55. This includes a free bag of inoculated straw to take home and see it fruit in 2-4 weeks. Orange Environment members get a 10 percent discount. And if you sign up for both sessions pay only $90. Court Madonna 114 Catholic Daughters annual Antique Appraisal Funday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 17, St. Mary’s Church Hall, Port Jervis. Appraisals held by Marianne Flannery of Flannery’s Auction and Estate Services, $4 per item, 6 items max per person, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., PRS Gold Buyers buying gold and silver. The 7th annual Craft Fair will also be held, raffles, bake sale. Proceeds benefit the Catholic Daughter charitable works.
