Hope Lutheran supports United Food Bank of Plant City

During the month of December, led by Hope's Missions and Outreach Ministry Team, the members of Hope Lutheran Church, 2001 N. Park Road, Plant City, participated in a "reverse Advent calendar." Members were in prayer everyday as Christmas approached as each bag contained a special Advent prayer calendar and purchased certain non-perishable grocery items (found on list attached to the bag) for the United Food Bank of Plant City, of which Hope's senior pastor, the Rev. Dean Pfeffer is vice-chairman of its board of directors. Each day throughout December church members continued to fill their bags to be returned to the church on Christmas Eve. More than 1,250 pounds of groceries were delivered to the food bank director, Mary Heysek.
