Kiwanis tournament big success - Goldendale Sentinel

The annual Goldendale Kiwanis Golf Tournament and Fund Raiser was another outstanding success, reports John Miller. The weather was cooperative, the tournament committee under the leadership of Bob Moco provided a well-organized

forum, and the community and business support was superb.

The primary purpose of the annual tournament is to raise funds to purchase 3,000 to 3,500 children's reading books. The books are distributed locally in support of more than 15 events and activities held throughout the year. Following Community Days, the next two events are the Back to School Bash and the Klickitat County Fair.

Monies are primarily generated by a combination of golfer entry fees, individual and business prize donations, and sponsors of business signs placed strategically on the golf course for all players to see.
