Kiwanis golf tournament coming June 8 | Community - Roanoke Times

The Kiwanis Club of Montgomery County-Blacksburg will hold its 17th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 8, at Auburn Hills Golf Club near Riner. Organizers invite players as well as sponsors to

take part in the event.

This four-player Captain’s Choice-format tournament gets underway at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Players may register as a team, or as an individual and be placed on a team. Entry fees are $70 per golfer or $280 per team, which includes cart and greens fees. Mulligans may be purchased, as well as 50/50 raffle tickets. Lunch will be provided by Kiwanis, and many great prizes will be awarded.

After lunch, a raffle drawing will occur for a Char-Griller AKORN Kamado charcoal grill. Tickets are $10, and proceeds will support the Junior Appalachian Music program of Montgomery County, whose mission is to teach children to play and dance to traditional old-time and bluegrass music. Montgomery County-Blacksburg Kiwanis supports many local projects, including food pantries at two elementary schools, Montgomery County Christmas Store, Boy Scouts, Salvation Army Christmas Angels, Special Olympics and much more.
