Kiwanis Club celebrates BUGS and Terrific Kids - Moultrie Observer

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Students are continuing to work hard into the new year. Last week, Kiwanians Alicia Horkan and Megan Long recognized 13 BUGS and eight Terrific

Kids at Stringfellow Elementary School.

The Kiwanis BUG (Bring Up Grades) program rewards academic improvement. As students raise or maintain their grades, they are rewarded in each following grading period to empower them to persevere.

The Terrific Kids program promotes a child’s character development, self-esteem, and perseverance. “Terrific” is an acronym for “Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive, and Capable.” Students set goals with their teacher regarding behavior, peer relationships, attendance or school work. Those who achieve their goals are recognized as Terrific Kids.

All BUGS and Terrific Kids receive a certificate to celebrate their hard work.
