Kiwanis Club of West Omaha Meeting

50/50 Split: Collected $13. No winner. Balance is now $29.

Happy Bucks collected: $43.

Attendance: 14 plus one guest

Three members of the Club attended the Division 20 monthly meeting. If we would have had one more member, we would have qualified for an Interclub.

Joel Christensen provided information on an upcoming Interclub opportunity. It will be with the Omaha Inc. Kiwanis Club on November 4 at 8:00 AM at the Marriott Residence Inn, 1717 So. 67 St., Omaha. Don Bacon will be the speaker.

Deb Rost bought the issue of Highway Cleanup. We are up for renewal. Discussion included whether to renew, change location, change dates of the week, etc. It was determined to keep the day of the week and location the same. We would also possibly look of including an in-town location and a weekday.

Joann Feller reported that the International Club is reviewing the past endowments for Camp OK, which is no longer active. Joann is to check further into past endowments from either of our merged clubs.

Dale Kaisershot reported that the reading program for Sacred Heart school is still on hold.

Frank Frerich reported that he is working Salvation Army Bell Ringing dates for December. Possibilities of Saturdays and weekdays. One is the first December weekend at Hy Vee located at 90th and Center and another at the Hy Vee located at 156th and Maple. These could include indoor ringing.

Joe Jackson provided an update on the scholarship program. He sent letters to five High Schools and has already received applications. The due date is March 5. The Board is to consider number and dollar amounts for the scholarships.

Next meeting is October 13 at Legends
