Omaha Westside Kiwanis ZOOM meeting September 23, 2020

In Vern Waldren’s absence (vacation trip) David Huelsmann was in charge of setting up the Zoom meeting.

President Frank Frerich lead the meeting. In addition to Frank and David the following were in attendance: Barbara St.John (and her dog Maggie Too), Jack Jackson, Linda Jones, Glen Fineman and John Seigel for a total of 7 members. All other members are encouraged to join in the future until we can again meet again in person.

Governor Lorna Hanna’s Fireside chat on Zoom: Frank will give more information.

Bell Ringing for Salvation Army Saturday, December 5, at Wheatfields: Frank has since reported the names of the volunteers to take 90 minute slots of guarding the donation kettle with “social distancing” and most likely masks.

Nightwatch food distribution with Salvation Army: Two dates were still not filled: The last Thursdays in January and February. Members interested please contact Frank. It will take 2 members each.

Several members shared some of their own experiences and observations made during this time of separation.

Membership renewals and dues: It was reported that treasurer Vernon Waldren was mailing out the annual statements. Dues of $135 must be received by Vern before October 10 to be reported to Kiwanis International.

Next Zoom meeting: Wednesday, October 14, at noon.
