President Frank Frerich lead the meeting, Jack Jackson started the Pledge of Allegiance

and gave the invocation and Valerie Stoj lead us in “My country this of thee . . .” 14 members were present.

Guest: Dennis Cronin brought his wife Laurie with him.

Salvation Army Night Watch food distribution: Jerry Katskee and Joann Feller assisted with the give-away of 102 meals Monday.

Tax Auction Fundraiser: Vern Waldren is still looking for a few more volunteers to earn $100 each for our welfare fund at the Sarpy County Court House on Monday, March 2 from 8 am to about noon.

Golf Outing Friday, June 6: Teri Layton encouraged members to assemble at least 13 teams and 8 or more hole sponsors for one of our two largest fundraisers – and some fun on the course.

Benson Key Club: Joann Feller shared about plans for a February 27 event.

Flag placement in the Loveland neighborhood: Dennis Cronin reminded members of this other major fundraiser beginning in May and encouraged member participation of placing about 115 flags in residents’ yards.

Drawing:  Barbara St.John drew the 4 of Spades, not the Ace of Clubs. ☹

Substitute Sheriff Vern Waldren capably made the rounds.

Today’s Speaker: Frank Frerich introduced RaeAnn Knoell, who gave a history overview of the Omaha Home for Boys, which was started 100 years ago as an orphanage. Today OHB reaches out mostly to teenage boys and girls and young adults with challenging upbringing to assist them in preparing themselves for life’s challenges.
