lead “God bless America” and David Huelsmann gave the invocation. 13 members were present.

Board Meeting: Monday, October 21 at Vernon Waldren’s Office.

Flag Placement: Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 7 am and 5 pm in Loveland neighborhood. Dennis Cronin will be looking for volunteers.

Benson High Key Club: Joann Feller reported that teacher Hanna DeFries will lead the club. She is impressed with some of the young people joining and is working on candidates for Key Leader, which will happen in November.

Upcoming Program: October 23: Dan Heidelberg from the West Omaha Kiwanis Club will present the required annual training about member’s conduct when  being involved with youth.

Drawing: Joann Feller drew the Ace of Diamonds, leaving about $150 for a future winner.

Happy Bucks: Sheriff Ralph Peppard made his usual happy round. Valerie Stoj will sing in a choir at UNO this evening at 7:30.

Today’s Speaker: Amie Konwinski gave a very personal report about her troubled upbringing, her years serving in the US Navy from Hawaii and Norfolk, VA, her subsequent marriage and her five children, now adults or close to adulthood, and her outreach through the non-profit SmartGENSociety, which works with schools and students to identify and help mitigate problems with students in Social Media. (This was quite an eye opener to the editor, who first learned writing on a slate in the 1950s).
