President Valerie Stoj lead the meeting and “My country . ....

.”, Ralph Peppard started the Pledge of Allegiance and Frank Frerich gave the invocation. Seven members were in attendance as several members had chosen warmer locations for a week or two.

Mid-Year NE/IA District Conference, February 23: Bruce Moulton, Dennis Cronin Vern Waldren plan to attend. Bruce and Dennis will be our delegates for voting and Vern will be an alternate. Barbara O’Donnell of Bellevue and Lonnie Olsen from Fremont are candidates for Trustees.

Board  Meeting Monday, February 18, 5:30 pm: Valerie handed out maps to find Vern Waldren’s office.

Salvation Army food-truck volunteers: February 14: Dennis Cronin and Frank Frerich. February 15: Dennis Cronin, Frank Frerich, Franks’ son and John Seigel.

March 13: Westside fifth grade speech contest by Linda Jones.

March 20: Katja (Seigel) Starkey about her non-profit supporting orphanages in African countries.

March 27: Rachidi (Roger) Adedokoun about his upbringing in the West African country of Benin, his coming to the United States through a “lottery” and the company he is operating “Developmental Disability Center of Nebraska” housing and supervising disabled persons with about 70 employees.

Today’s Speaker: Steven C. Brunken, a Kiwanian, who visited our club last week, spoke about the free service provided to children and burn victims by Shrine Hospitals and Burn Centers, in particular about the Hospital in Minneapolis, which covers several north central states, including Iowa and Nebraska.
