Omaha Westside Kiwanis News January 2, 2019

Olive Garden Restaurant, 75th and Dodge, Wednesday, January 2, 2019

Our luncheon was combined with the district 20 monthly meeting in a larger room of the restaurant.

President Valerie Stoj welcomed members and officers of the following clubs: Omaha Golden K, West Omaha Diamond K, Bellevue AM, Bellevue Offutt, Greater Omaha and Southwest. She especially welcomed Kiwanis NE/IA Governor Sue Waldren, the wife of Vern Waldren’s second cousin and her “driver” Mike Waldren, as well is Division 20 Lt. Governor Barbara O’Donnell and her husband former Lt. Governor Bill O’Donnell, as well as other dignitaries. Frank Frerich gave the invocation.

After the meals were served Sue Waldren addressed the members.

She gave an enthusiastic invitation to the Midyear Conference, which will take place at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Omaha on February 23.

Other items of her presentation included “Achieving Club Excellence”, emphasis on new members to existing clubs over forming new clubs, completing the fund raising for the “eliminate prenatal tetanus” in the next two years, general fundraising, leadership, promotion of donating blood and the celebration of 100 years of three clubs in the district, one each in Lincoln, Des Moines and Omaha.
