Vicki West, executive director of the Seafarers Center, recently spoke to Kiwanis about her call to serve Seafarers and the mission of the Seafarer’s Center.

West moved to Glynn County in 2012 and volunteered at the International Seafarers’ Center (ISC) soon after. The ISC provides support to those international seafarers who come to the Port of Brunswick. Each year there are about 16,000 seafarers and the number is growing. The center has Chaplains two to three days a week, health classes for free, social acivities, Christmas shoeboxes and provides transportation so visiting seafarers can shop.
