The Ottawa Kiwanis Club met Feb. 5 in Scott Hall at First Presbyterian Church. President Lloyd Chapman called the meeting to order and members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Kiwanis Pledge. Judy Wilkinson gave the prayer. Guests included Dorothy Fiesel, guidance counselor at Marquette Academy, and four members of the Key Club.

The Marquette students talked about themselves and the colleges they will be attending. They also answered questions from Kiwanis members. The Hobie Leadership Seminar was also discussed. The Key Club will help with peanut sales in September if their schedules allow.

Chapman explained to the Key Club members a little about the fundraising for the inclusive playground at Lincoln-Douglas Park. Kiwanis has raised $200,000 for the park and the second phase should be finished this spring.

The next meeting will be at noon Monday, Feb. 12, at First Presbyterian Church. Prospective new members are welcome. Call Chapman for more information at 815-433-2111.
