A hot breakfast on a cold winter’s day is what the Kiwanis of Riverview club is offering at its annual fundraiser.

The organization has held the event for many years, but formerly it was only for participants of the Riverview Winterfest Run.

But as participation in the race began to decline a few years ago, the club opened it up to the public and has made it one of their major fundraisers of the year.

The fourth annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 11 at Seitz Middle School, 17800 Kennebec.

The breakfast includes unlimited pancakes, syrup, butter, two sausages, and a beverage of your choice — coffee, tea, orange juice or hot chocolate.

Proceeds raised will be used to support local Kiwanis programs such as Easter and Thanksgiving dinner baskets, Coats for Kids, Dictionaries for Third Graders, Police Academy Scholarships, and more.

The cost is $6 for adults. Seniors and children 12 and under pay $5. Breakfast is free for toddlers 3 years old and younger.

Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event.
