Downtown Kirksville was filled with Christmas cheer on Saturday.

The 7th annual Kirksville Kiwanis Christmas Parade took place during the evening.

Lighted vehicles and floats traveled down Franklin Street.

The theme for this year's parade was "Home for the Holidays."

In lieu of an entry fee, the Kirksville Kiwanis Club asked parade participants to donate new children's mittens, gloves, hats, coats and scarves.

The warm clothing will now be donated to children in the community.

After the parade, Santa made a stop at the Adair County Courthouse.

There, children were able to share their Christmas wishes.

If you weren't able to make it out to see Santa following the parade, you still have more time to do so.

Thanks to the Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee (KDIC), children can enjoy visits with Santa each Saturday in December, leading up to Christmas.

Santa will be at the Adair County Courthouse on December 8, 15, and 22 from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

Free candy canes and cookies will be provided. Children will also be able to take a holiday train ride, weather permitting.
