of Allegiance, Valerie lead us in “God bless America” and Glen Fineman gave the invocation.

Camp OK sponsored students: Linda Jones and Rod had a long table with the two girls from Westgate Elementary School who had attended Camp OK in Iowa recently, sponsored by our club. They were joined by some of their family members. Gabi Cortez and Delaney Diaz, who had been friends before the camp, enthusiastically shared about their positive experiences and Valerie Stoj asked many leading questions. It was a pleasure to see the excitement both girls showed.  

Flag Day, June 14: Dennis Cronin was still looking for at least one member to assist with placing and picking up flags for our fund raiser in the Loveland area.

Golf Outing, June 15: While Teri Layton was not there it was assumed that she was working hard on finalizing things for the golf outing at Tiburan Friday.  Members expressed their appreciation for Teri doing such a great job with this event.

Club Leadership Training, Saturday, June 16: Valerie Stoj and Frank Frerich plan on attending the annual training in the Council Bluffs Public Library. 

Drawing: Vern Waldren drew the 8 of Clubs, at least it was a Clubs, leaving $82.50 in the pot.

Happy Bucks: Sheriff Ralph Peppard collected many happy bucks from members and guests.

Upcoming Programs:

June 20: Vern Waldren: Douglas County Fair.

June 27: Kathy Holkeboer, executive director of “Voter Information Project Nebraska”.

July 4: No meeting.

Dennis Cronin will have speakers for July and the first Wednesday in August. At this time no member has signed up to arrange for speakers for the rest of August. Please let Valerie know, if you will be able to step in or if you have a suggestion for one or more speakers.

Today’s Speakers: Valerie Stoj introduced Tim and Lisa Trudell, who shared how they became involved in writing the book “100 Things To Do in Omaha Before You Die”. They also shared that they are cooperating in their next book about Omaha’s Home Grown Restaurants. Books were available for purchase. (I am about 79 things behind on the list of 100).
