Today’s Speaker: After giving a brief background about his educational and business experience, retired Real Estate Broker John Seigel gave an update of the Omaha Area Residential Real Estate Market partly based on a recent presentation by Appraiser Gregg Mitchell to Omaha Realtors. He also shared some experience about value increases and assessments of some specific properties he was familiar with. His conclusion was that real estate continues to be an excellent long term investment, especially with an average of about 4% annual increase of sale prices over the last 45 years, protecting the investment from losing value because of inflation, while it is enjoyed as a place to live and with only a small down payment.
