President Dennis Cronin lead the meeting, Joe Schmidtke lead the patriotic song and... gave the invocation.
 
Guests: We welcomed Lt. Governor of District 19, Joanne Fellar, and Lois Kimbell, guest of Cindy Cone.
 
Possible Opportunity to recognize a police officer for superior conduct. Jack Jackson shared a report about a police officer’s handling of a very challenging situation and shared that he forwarded it to the NE/IA Kiwanis District via Barbara O’Donnell in order to honor him more publicly. Jack’s write-p is attached above.
 
Drawing: Bob Lodes removed the 8 of Hearts from the deck, leaving $46 on the table.
 
Happy Bucks: Sheriff Ralph Peppard collected Happy Bucks and fines.
 
Today’s Speaker:  Dennis Cronin introduced Mike Kelly of the Omaha World-Herald, who spoke about his years in different positions at the newspaper and his current weekly column. He also promoted a book “Uniquely Omaha”, which he and the Omaha World-Herald published. Several members took advantage of purchasing the book.
