In the absence of President Dennis Cronin for medical reasons Lt. Governor and past club president Bruce Moulton presided, Rod Jones lead... “God bless America” and Glen Fineman gave the invocation.
Out substitute waitress Stacy had flags and equipment set up and served the meals well.
Division 20 meeting: This morning’s meeting was attended by club members Bruce Moulton, Joe Schmdtke, Rod Jones, Cindy Cone and Glen Fineman. Glen Fineman reported about a scheduled Division 19/20 Bowling event on July 28 for the benefit of the Eliminate Prenatal Tetanus Program. New officer training will be on June 24 at a place to be determined. The NE/IA Kiwanis District Convention will be on August 4 / 5 near Iowa City. The next Lt. Governor for Division 20 for 2017 / 18 will be Dick Williams a former member of our club and current member of Omaha Golden K.
All Play Baseball: Cleanup Day April 22 from 10 am to 1 pm. Rod Jones reported that donating clubs will get a “Brick” with the club’s name on it on a path at the ballpark.
Ronald McDonald House Meals: Barbara St.John reported that she, husband Dave Huelsmann, neighbor Barb and Jim Dahlgren and his wife fed about 25 residents with several to come later for ample leftovers. The next meal will be served on May 20.
Flag Fundraiser: The first placement will be on Armed Forces Day May 20. (Busy day!)
Drawing: Sarah Ross drew the 5 of Spades, leaving cash for a future winner.
Happy Bucks: After several weeks without happy bucks because of large guest participants Ralph Peppard exceeded his budget from many happy members.
Today’s Speaker: Margo Rieks and an assistant from the Better Business Bureau of Omaha spoke about scams everyone needs to be careful about. Be careful!
