For the fourth consecutive year, the island’s two Rotary clubs and the Kiwanis Club of Marco Island are working together to produce the Marco Island Seafood Festival, the Island’s single largest community event.The dates are Saturday, March 24, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, March 25, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Veterans Community Park in the center of Marco Island.With more than 10,000 visitors asking for an expanded format, event organizers have extended festival hours on both weekend days.To add to the festival fun, the Landsharks, sponsored by Physicians Regional Healthcare System, will headline from 7-9 p.m. March 24. The show band is renowned for covering Jimmy Buffet tunes and in generating audience participation.Other featured entertainers on the Seminole Casino Stage include: Saturday – The Del Prados, GladezMen, Gema Pearl featuring Lee Brovitz, Jim Long, and the Landsharks. Sunday – The Whole Tones, Hot Damn Duo and the Danny Morgan Band.Sunday evening will include happy hour from 4-6 p.m., with two-for-one prices on beer and wine.Attendees can also expect some of the best seafood in Florida, a 60-by- 90-foot food tent sponsored by Mutual of Omaha Bank, a special Kids Zone, and more than 60 arts and craft vendors.Parking can be found anywhere in the center of the Island, or along Collier Boulevard.The Seminole Casino will provide free shuttle bus service throughout the island.Head to this story at marcoislandflorida.com for a complete bus route.All of the money raised will go directly to local and international humanitarian programs sponsored by the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs.The Seafood Festival is truly a community family event, bringing islanders and visitors from as far away as Atlanta together in the spirit of good food and fun.Entry fee is $6, kids under 12 are free
