The 16th Annual Kiwanis Taste of the Town has a special significance this year as it is part of the town’s year-long bicentennial celebration.
The event features offerings from 25 local restaurants, 12 wineries and two tables of brewers, all intended to showcase the best eats and drinks Seekonk has to offer.
“Anyone who wants to come can. You can go to sample every restaurant,” said Seekonk Kiwanis Club co-chairperson Edith Krekorian.
Krekorian said that while the restaurants offer samples, not entire meals, she noted there are enough different restaurants to try that people will be full by the end of the night.
Restaurants slated to be in attendance incude: Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Audrey’s Restaurant, Autumn's Cafe, Bone Yard Barbeque, Chardonnay’s Restaurant, Cold Stone Creamery, Country Kitchen, Darling’s Restaurant, Davenport’s Restaurant, Jacob Hill B&B, Lemon & Oil Deli, The Luxury Box, Ninety-Nine Restaurant, Old Grist Mill Tavern, Seekonk Pizza Factory, Seraphim Tea and More, Stop & Shop, Tai Pan Restaurant, Tito’s Cantina, Toti's Restaurant, Vinno's Family Cafe and Young’s Caterers.
Additionally, the recently opened Not Your Average Joe’s will have samples at the event.
The event is open to anyone over 16 years old and tickets are $30 a person. It runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in the main ballroom of the Johnson and Wales Inn on Route 44.
