Olive Garden Restaurant, 75th and Dodge, Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
As a survey I would appreciate if you respond with "received" when you read this newsletter. A Happy New Year to all
President Dennis Cronin lead the meeting and "God bless America" and Ray Preston gave the invocation.
We welcomed David Huelsmann's guest, his wife Barbara.
Nightwatch: about 330 meals were distributed last Thursday with the Salvation Army along Leavenworth Street by Jennifer, Ray, Bill Morrisson and John . The next distribution was scheduled for Jan 5 with Rod and Bruce and Bruce's 2 granddaughters with Ralph as a back-up. Two distributions are scheduled for February.
Division 20 meeting: Glen, Bruce and Bill Morrission formed an interclub this morning. Project "Eliminate" was emphasized.
Board Meeting: Tuesday, Jan 10, 6:15pm at Jerry Katskee's office.
Midyear Conference: Saturday, Feb. 4. Please turn in reservations with Glen Fineman.
Volunteer Hours: Glen circulated a sheet for the record.
Programs: Ralph still has a couple of month open for program chairmen.
Invocations: Ray circulated a sign-up sheet for invocations.

Drawing: A full deck of 52 cards! Dick Williams removed the 3 of Spades.
Happy Bucks: Dennis Cronin for his daughter receiving a job at the University Hospital as a pediatric nurse and now no longer requiring his financial support. Jack Jackson for 44 Jears of happy marriage on Dec. 23. John Seigel was happy that the November election is ONLY 10 months away now and the IA caucasus was over and he "missed the ads already". (In retrospect, this was a bit too early), Jennifer Tellinghusen had a birthday January 1 and her son is turning 4 today. Bill Morrission commented on football and several members had no pins or no name tags. Joe Schmidtke enjoyed sitting with guest Barbara, mentioning something about "radiance", Barbara was happy about their friend's recovery from a heart attack, including being under an ice blanket for several days, and was hoping that more of her functions will return. (I can relate to that! the editor).
Speaker: Vern Waldren introduced Ralph Peppard's neighbor Clare Dude, County Commissioner, who has been at our club so often that he needs no introduction. Clare is welcoming the chairmanship of the County Board by Mark Kraft, with whom he shares some philosophies. Clare has been on the county board since 1992 and is still cleaning up some sand from his Missouri River Valley farmland in Douglas County after this summer's flood. He gave us an update on county government, which is always interesting.
