The Officer Installation Dinner was called to order by president Dave Huelsmann at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 20. Jack Jackson gave the invocation.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal they were served.
Dave recognized several members for their contribution to the club during the last year:
Jim Krier - fundraising Blue Bunny.
Terri Layton - all around involvement and leadership she provides.
Ralph Peppard - Sheriff.
Jack H. Jackson - scholarship.
Jeannie Moore - Young Children Priority #1.
Bill Chilcoat - Treasurer.
Glenn Finemann - Secretary.
Rod Jones - Sponsored Youth.
Perfect Attendance Awards were presented by Glen Firemann:
Jack H. Jackson - 30 years.
Rod Jones - 10 years.
Bill Chilcoat - 10 years
Jeannie Moore - 10 years (to also honor her late husband Richard)
Dave reviewed the year and challenged our members to:
A commitment to service.
To do everything we can to make a difference in our community.
Have fun doing it.
He said the "choice is ours".
Rod Jones also brought to our club's attention that Dave had received an e-mail from a student from France studying in New York that had seen our web site and praised the number of projects we do that reflects our patriotism. Dave is responsible for the web site our club has.
The new Lt. Governor of our Division 20, Bill Morrison, inducted:
President - Richard Bastman
Vice President - Bruce Moulton
Treasurer - Bill Chilcoat
Secretary - Glenn Firemann
Valerie Stoj, our new president elect, was not able to attend.
Bill Morrison also presented his major goals for the clubs in Division 20 this year:
Maximize our service.
Grow in membership.
Have fun.
He urged clubs to:
Grow by a minimum of two members.
Complete one more community project.
Do a community analysis.
Have at least two social activities.
All the members who attended had a good time.
Don't forget the club's picnic on the second Sunday in October (October 9) from 12 to 3 p.m. at Zorinsky Park.
