Division Pancake Day

Each club from our division participates in this event. Usually lasts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Great way to visit with members around the division and share in great food.

Bell Ringing

We ring bells for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season to help raise money for the needy.

Golf Tournament

One of the major fund raisers for our club is the golf tournament. Volunteers from the club participate in planning and working the event. Club members solicit hole sponsors, flag prizes, and foursomes.

American Flag Project

Club volunteers place flags mounted on 9 foot poles at homes that have signed up for placement during 6 holidays. Flags are place at 7 a.m. and removed at 7 p.m.

Wish 'n Spin

wishnspinWe rotate a spiral wishing well at various commercial locations. This wishing well has space for 20 business card advertisers which purchase their advertising on the well for a one year period. Children (and adults) like to watch the coins spin around the vortex-shaped funnel, gaining speed and seeming to defy the laws of gravity as they hug the side-walls without falling over. The money collected from advertising and from the coins is used to fund our children's support activities such as scholarships and warm clothing for winter.

Past fund raising activities:

Blue Bunny Ice Cream

Blue Bunny has provided our club the opportunity to raise funds by selling Blue Bunny Ice Cream at the following events: Arts Festival in downtown Omaha - typically the first weekend in June; Westfair in Council Bluffs - the third week in July - Wednesday through Sunday; Douglas County Fair - first week in August - Thursday through Sunday.

Antique Discovery Day

This annual event held at the Westside Community Center has become very popular thanks to Joella Cohen and Rodney Crawford from Omaha Auction Center as well as Jeff Spencer, our first appraiser. Club volunteers assist with the event that runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
